who's been sittin on your couch?

this jewel sits in the center of the living room.
she's faded pink, has a missing leg that's been remedied by stacked books, is just about the world's longest couch, sinks in the middle,
and was made circa 1950's.

a real beauty you might say.

my favorite thing about this couch, however, is not any of her interesting characteristics, but is the collection of wonderful people that she has seated over the 2 years that she's lived in my living room.

sad teenage girls, pleasant middle aged women,
bored junior high-ers, teenage boys on drugs, laughing friends, guitar players, & happily married couples,
just to name a few.

know what?
God likes when we invite people into our homes.

He likes when we sit next to them,
listen to their stories,
pray with them,
and be their friend.

"Do not forget to extend hospitality to strangers [in the brotherhood-being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously], for through it some have entrained angels without knowing it."
-Hebrews 13:2
